Pair the Kobo, enable Two-way progress sync in Kobo settings, keep KEPUB conversion enabled, and read the Binge Reader-delivered copy. Sync the Kobo before opening the book elsewhere; after reading in the web reader, sync the Kobo again.
Turn on the position bridge
Open Settings → Kobo and enable Two-way progress sync. KEPUB conversion is required for precise Kobo locations, so leave it enabled and confirm the source EPUB is below the configured conversion limit.
Avoid the sideloaded twin
A USB-copied EPUB with the same cover is not the synced entitlement. Download the Binge Reader copy from the Kobo library. If the device keeps opening an old copy, remove it and download the delivered version again.
Test each direction
Read a short passage on Kobo, return to the library, and run Sync. Open the same book in Binge Reader and verify the passage. Move forward in the web reader, close it, then run Kobo Sync before checking the new position.
The details, at a glance.
| Consider | What to look for |
|---|---|
| Kobo → Binge Reader | Run device Sync after reading |
| Binge Reader → Kobo | Close the web reader, then run Kobo Sync |
| Precision | Requires the delivered KEPUB |
| Fallback | Keep a chapter and phrase locator |
A few things worth asking.
Is sync immediate while I am reading?
No. The Kobo initiates its exchanges. Run Sync when handing off between Kobo and another reader.
Why does status update but not the exact passage?
Precise restore depends on a matching delivered KEPUB. Check conversion, the size limit, and whether you opened an older sideloaded copy.
